Farewell Flowers
Beautiful and thoughtful flowers
to say goodbye to a loved one......

Flowers at a funeral are a beautiful way to say goodbye to a loved one and to celebrate their life with family and friends.
Farewell flowers should reflect the person, a time or a place and be meaningful for those saying goodbye.
I am passionate about providing a personalised service to family members during such challenging times and work personally with you in carefully crafting a design which represents your loved one. I am happy to meet with you to discuss your requirements and if your loved one was a keen gardener I am also happy to visit their home to utilise some of their most precious blooms.
It is always an absolute honour to be asked to produce farewell flowers and we aim for our designs to be memorable, personalised, shared and even, lasting……..
Memorable
As we work with the seasons to ensure the best and most beautiful flowers and foliage is used, our style we feel is slightly different to other alternatives as they emulate the way in which nature is at its best and creates a fresher, softer and wilder and unique feel.
Personalised
Whether a keen gardener, passionate sportsperson or penchant for a favourite colour or flower we can work with you to create something which reminds you of your loved one, evokes memories of your time together and even brings a small smile to your face during this challenging time.
Shared & Lasting
There are many ways in which to create a design which looks beautiful on a casket but can be easily taken apart after the service and shared with family and friends. We can also include a variety of living material which can be replanted in your garden as a lasting memory to cherish

Different styles of funeral flowers
The language around funeral flowers can be confusing, so here we explain the meaning of common words used describe arrangement styles. Don’t feel, however, that you have to choose any of these traditional formats – funeral flowers can be anything you want them to be.
In addition to the casket display a variety of co-ordinated arrangements can also be provided to decorate the church, chapel, crematorium and wake.
Casket
Half or Full Casket Spray
An arrangement which sits on top of the coffin.
Available in different sizes and often referred to as a ‘half casket’ or ‘full casket’ display.
It is a traditional design and as such often chosen as the main arrangement.
Wreath
Personalised / Living
Usually an open centred ring or sometimes an open centred heart. These can be fully decorated, or garlanded to cover only part of a decorative base.
Natural wreath bases will be used and personal items can be included if possible e.g. walking boots, watering cans. This design can be used as the main flowers or used as additional decoration for a funeral. It is also possible for some living material to be included in the wreath which can be taken out and replanted in your garden after the service.
Tied Sheaf
Created to share and enjoy after the service....
A tied sheaf is a beautifully simple form of funeral flowers. Like a large flat-backed bouquet, a sheaf is made to lie on top of the coffin and can be used instead of a casket spray or wreath.
Can be used as the main flowers or as an additional arrangement for funerals. Can also be easily arranged in a bouquet and enjoyed at the wake or home.
Garland or Swag
A lovely alternative to casket top flowers
A garland can be made of foliage, flowers or a mix of both and is wrapped around the coffin
Swags are small ‘bars’ of flowers which can be attached to the sides and ends of the coffin and are an alternative to decorating it using a garland all the way round.
Advice would need to be sought on the best option of these two depending upon the style of casket – Funeral director / Floral Designer.
Posy
A simple yet beautiful impact
Posies can be small tied bunches of flowers which can be or placed onto the casket or attached to the side similar to a swag, they acts as a small tribute as part of the ceremony but can also be used to decorate the wake.
Posy can mean different things, so please discuss with us if you think this would be your preference.
